Melissa Collins
2020 Chairman of the Board
Melissa Collins has served the Harrison Regional Chamber of Commerce for several years before being asked
to serve as the 2020 Chairman of the Board. She began her tenure as the co-chairman of the local area’s
strategic plan, #believeboonecounty. Working in this capacity, she guided countless committees to create and
publish this guide to direct the forward progress of the many entities of community. She was named a Woman
of Distinction in 2019 in Harrison for her work with #believeboonecounty.
Melissa has lived in this great town for most of her life. She has been a Realtor since 2009. For 5 1⁄2 years she
has been Principal Broker/Owner of Weichert, Realtors-Market Edge, one of the top producing real estate
companies in the area. She graduated from Harrison High School in 1983. After completing her Bachelor’s
Degree in Elementary and Middle Level Education from Harding University in 1986 she taught for the Little
Rock School District while her husband, Ken, attended UAMS medical school.
Working under the motto of “blessed with another day to serve others”, Melissa enjoys working with clients in
their most important family possession. First-time homebuyers, relocation, step-up housing, or selling clients
all need an experienced agent who understands the business as well as the emotional aspect. Her ARA
Awards for Excellence include Diamond or Platinum for the past several years. She was Harrison District
Board of Realtors Realtor of the Year for 2014 given for her spirit of volunteerism.
Melissa has been involved in many organizations in the Harrison community primarily focusing on the children
of this area. She served 2 years as chairman for the North Arkansas Regional Medical Center Foundation. She
is a graduate of the ARA Leadership Class of 2011. She and Ken serve on the President’s Advisory Council of
Harding University. Melissa has also served as president of the Harrison District Board of Realtors, Junior
Auxiliary of Harrison, the Harrison Public Schools Foundation, and the Harrison PTA Council. She is an active
member of the Northside Church of Christ. She and Ken enjoyed raising their children, Layne and Lucas, here
in Harrison. Layne and her husband, Logan live in Bentonville where Layne is a PA-C in orthopedic medicine
and Logan is a computer programmer. They are parents to her two granddaughters. Lucas and his wife Nikki
live in Harrison, AR where both are doctors of Physical Therapy.
