Having extreme focus on the goal of safe and healthy communities pushes against some of the social norms of today. Providing for that goal runs counter to the push for recreational marijuana use and the expanding of access to alcohol for youth.

It can be so difficult to have focus when you are constantly pulled in 1000 different directions. When you are so busy putting out little fires, you can't be creative. All those little things are so important to the daily aspects of leading a team- but it is also important not to lose your vision. Why did you take this job? Why did you want to lead this team? If you continue to pursue your vision, it gives you motivation to keep going and tackling all those mundane tasks.

This has to be my biggest struggle. I have so many things that I am responsible for, it is easy to lose focus on the big picture and my main task. I find myself having to take a step back, get the focus back in the picture, and the re-strategize to complete my tasks for the week. Comments are closed.
