Harrison is fortunate to have a strong education system from early development to higher education. We recognize the importance of lifelong learning whether you're starting your first book of Dolly Parton's Imagination Library through our local affiliates (Boone County) or going back to work to up-skill in the workforce through North Arkansas College.

​Our school district support organization, the Ozarks Unlimited Resources Educational Services Cooperative, serves the region of 16 school districts and 21 schools. 6 of which are located here in Boone County (Harrison, Alpena, Lead Hill, Omaha, Valley Springs, and Bergman).

Harrison is also home to an institution of higher learning. North Arkansas College is a comprehensive community college serving 4,000 students annually. Fully accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, Northark offers university transfer and technical associate degrees, one-year certificates, business and industry training, adult basic education/GED, and non-credit community education courses. Northark has earned a reputation for excellence, especially for its nursing, allied health and information technology programs. Students may receive certain bachelor's degrees without leaving Northark's service area through partnerships that Northark has developed with other colleges and universities such as Arkansas Tech University, Drury University, and Missouri State University.
