A Collaborative Effort of Several Local Entities
Harrison, AR, March 29, 2023. You don’t need to have a four-year college degree that typically sets you back tens of thousands of dollars in student loans to have a good paying job with benefits right now!
With the recent announcement of layoffs by a local employer, your Harrison Regional Chamber of Commerce is coordinating with local businesses and organizations to ensure the public is aware of the many employment opportunities available in the Harrison-Boone County area, right here at home.
Local businesses have identified over 150 vacant positions, from health care, production, maintenance, and customer service to OTH drivers, communications, construction, and marketing, among others. These positions range from above average entry level wages to highly skilled, high-paying opportunities. Most come with training provided, and many offer benefits from day one.
Collaborating with the North Arkansas College workforce development team, the Northwest Arkansas Economic Development District workforce team, the O.U.R. Education Services Cooperative, the Boone County Economic Development Corporation, the Chamber’s WIN (Workforce Initiative Network) program, and area high school career and technical education departments, businesses are engaged in career and job fairs throughout the county.
Bob Largent, President/CEO of the Harrison Regional Chamber of Commerce, noted “Individuals have the opportunity to select from a wide variety of good paying jobs within a 20-to-30-minute drive from their homes. There is also assistance available from a variety of organizations to help with resume building and interviewing skills preparation, and even up-skilling workforce proficiency, all at no cost.” He added, “Harrison is growing and has momentum. We want the public to know that Harrison is the place to live, play, and work, and there are jobs available today.”
